Argentina sealed an export deal with Paraguay on this year’s Valentine day, 14thFebruary, 2019. According to CoinTelegraph Espanol, the deal involves the purchase of $7,100 worth of pesticides by Paraguay from Argentina.
Argentina made use of the services of Bitex, a payment processor in Latin American that supports Bitcoin payments. The payment was made by Paraguay in Bitcoin to Argentina, ad it was subsequently converted into Argentinian Pesos to settle the accounts of the exporter of the pesticides.
Bitex’s Chief Marketing Officer, Manuel Beaudroit reveals that their company is part of the Argentine government’s program Exporta Simple – the program helps with the facilitation of exports of goods and services worth less than $15,000. The aim is to make cross-border payments, easier, faster and cheaper.
