Fear has gripped residents of Nintin, a community near Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region following the gruesome murder of a thirty-four (34) year old taxi driver.
The lifeless body of Okyere Amankwaah was found in a bush near a cocoa plantation Tuesday morning at Nintin, with his genitals and tongue missing, reports Radio XYZ 93.1 reporter Jonathan Ofori on Thursday.
The Police in the region has since launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder of the cab driver who went missing on January 7, 2019.
Confirming the news to journalists on Wednesday, January 16, Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said the deceased was on board a Nissan Taxi cab with registration number AC 1205-17 when the incident occurred.
Mr Ahianyo added they are yet to find the taxi, and added frantic efforts were being made to retrieve the vehicle.
The police have also called on the general public to help them with any relevant information to help arrest the assailants who are on the run.
