Kwesi Arthur became Ghana’s most prominent 2017 breakout rap star. A young rapper from Tema in Ghana, he released his first project, the Live from Nkrumah Krom EP, in early 2017. Some months later, a song from the EP titled “Grind Day” caught on to listener’s ears, spread like wildfire and became a smash hit.
Since then, Kwesi has been steady grinding, doing show after show and releasing more songs as well as visuals to accompany them. However, the academic qualification of the youngster is nothing more than a WASSCE. According to Kwesi, he couldn’t continue his Tertiary education because of financial crisis after he completed Tema Senior High School.
However, despite his current economic status, from the horse’s own mouth, he’s not interested in formal education anymore! The “Grind Day” crooner revealed this in a virtual interview with Emcee Bebe on Cape 93.3FM on Saturday.
“To be frank, I have completed SHS but I I’ve no plans or whatsoever of continuing my education. My focus now is on music not in the acquisition of certificates”, Kwesi Arthur said.
When probed further if he’ll ever rescind his decision in reference to formal education, Kwesi Arthur responded in disapproval.
“Errm there’s no way. I’ve never thought of that. Music is my everything for now. I’m thinking about how to cross boundaries with my music comparably to certificates”, he insisted.
