Renowned sound engineer, Zapp Mallethas blasted Shatta Wale over a brawl between him and Stonebwoy at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music at the Dome (Accra International Conference Centre).
The fracas started shortly after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’.
Just when Stonebwoy, who was picking up the award for the fifth time, was about to deliver his acceptance speech for the award, Shatta Wale started walking to him on stage.
Just as he approached the stage, blows started flying between Stonebwoy’s entourage and Shatta Wale’s team. Fast forward, Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage during the scuffle as some of his team members try to shield the gun.
The fight disrupted the Awards for almost 30 minutes. Reacting to the mess that has become the talk of Ghana, Zapp Mallet in a virtual interview with RazzNews descended heavily on Shatta Wale by indicating that:
“it’s a sad day for Ghana music…Shatta’s conduct was very appalling …why was he going on the stage? Some people think awards belongs to them… Kumi Guitar and Dada Hafco should’ve all stormed the stage when Shatta won the Highlife song of the year “, Zapp Mallet fumed.
Zapp Mallet who was extremely peeved advised that ”One person can not win all the awards…you will win and lose some, that’s how it goes. Therefore, Shatta Wale should know this for what he did is uncalled for any day”.
