Yesterday 22nd August 2019, the sad news broke that former Ghana Black Stars’ player, Junior Agogo has died. Although the cause of death is yet to be officially communicated, many people believe he died from the stroke he has been battling with for the past 4 to 5 years.

Few hours after his death a video of Junior Aggo narrating how his close friends and teammates abandoned him when he needed them most has surfaced online.
Junior Agogo was interviewed on BBC when he spoke about how he has been dealing with the stroke which humbled him at such an early age.

At a point in the interview, he took the host around his house and showed him jerseys of his close friend, Micheal Essien and Samuel E’too hanged on his wall proudly.
It was then the host asked him if he still hears from his teammates and close friends in his trying moments.
That was when he revealed that his friends and teammates used to come around when he was healthy but they have all abandoned him since he suffered the stroke four years ago.
“They all used to come around, we meet, but now nobody gets in touch with me after the stroke,” Junior Agogo said.

BBC called the documentary about the sad life of Junior Agogo “Speechless” and it is heartbreaking to see how the mighty has fallen.
According to the reports obtained by Ghpage.com, Junior Agogo passed at a hospital in London where he was based with his mother who took care of him when he fell sick. He died at the age of 40.

Ghanaians have been mourning his death since the news broke, The Captain-General of Ghana Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, The Skipper of the team, Dede Ayew, President of Ghana and many others have expressed their condolences with Junior Agogo’s family.
