Volta, Western Regions record first cases of COVID-19

Western and Volta Regions have also recorded cases of COVID-19.

This was confirmed by the Ghana Health Service.

So far ten out of the 16 regions in Ghana have recorded such infections.

Ghana’s Covid-19 cases shoots up drastically to 566

At the national level, 566 COVID-19 cases have so far been recorded.

An update by the Ghana Health Service showed the Western and Volta regions, has now become the ninth and tenth regions respectively to confirm cases of COVID-19.

Health authorities attributed the increasing number of cases to the ongoing enhanced surveillance exercise.

The development now increases the number of regions affected by COVID-19 to 10 out of the 16 regions in Ghana.

The Greater Accra region still leads as the region with the highest number of cases followed by the Ashanti and Eastern region.

The Northern Region follows before the Volta Region.

A total of 566 COVID-19 cases have so far been recorded in the country including eight deaths and four recoveries.
