A statement released by the National Operations Directorate suggests that following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, 4 major cities, namely Accra, Kumasi, Obuasi and Tema are to be locked down to control and contain the spread of the virus.
It is anticipated that this lockdown could be partial or full. This is one of the initiatives which is to be taken in order to control the spread.
The statement further explains that the Ghana Police will be in the frontline to maintain law and order during this lockdown.

This 4 cities, Accra, Kumasi, Obuasi and Tema have had Coronavirus cases and it would be fair to order a partial or full lockdown to save other citizens from contracting the deadly virus.
The president, Nana Akuffo Addo may later Announce this in the course of the day as he stated yesterday when he addressed the general public that, they are considering lockdown.
