Prolific Ghanaian rapper and Entrepreneur, Michael Owusu Addo, Known famously as Sarkodie has responded to comments by Shatta Wale claiming he (Sarkodie) is poor.

The ‘Highest’ Crooner who was responding to a series of jabs thrown at him by the ‘Bullet Proof’ singer in a new tune indicated that he had started charging half a million before he came to the industry.

Even though Sarkodie did not mention names in the song, it is obvious that ‘Obidi’ was throwing punches back at Shatta Wale who has been on a ranting spree lately in a bid to promote his album.

THE GENESIS

Every ardent follower of Ghana music has come to the realisation that Shatta Wale rides on unnecessary controversies to keep his name going. So, it’s not surprising that Shatta has been throwing shades at Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kwaw Kese, et al. off late whenever he gets media platform.

Shatta Wale in the same interview further stated that he is not boxing with anyone to pull them but the reality is that currently; “Kwaw Kese is very poor, Sarkodie is poor but for Stonebwoy because he is on the same label (Zylofon Music) with me, he has a few things… but the rest of them are damn poor!”

THE RESPONSES

Sarkodie has responded to Shatta Wale’s assertion that he’s poor in the remix of Medikal’s banger titled “How Much ”. Here is one of the verses by Sarkodie in the song, indicating his strong repulsion to Shatta’s rants.

“…put some respect on my name nigga; cus you and me are not the same nigga. Wo pushi Picanto no na me pushi Range nigga. I started charging half a million before you came in nigga! ..”, an excerpt of Sarkodie’s verse that is indirectly meant for Shatta Wale.
