Prolific Ghanaian rapper and Entrepreneur, Michael Owusu Addo, Known famously as Sarkodie has responded to comments by Shatta Wale claiming he (Sarkodie) is poor.
The ‘Highest’ Crooner who was responding to a series of jabs thrown at him by the ‘Bullet Proof’ singer in a new tune indicated that he had started charging half a million before he came to the industry.
Even though Sarkodie did not mention names in the song, it is obvious that ‘Obidi’ was throwing punches back at Shatta Wale who has been on a ranting spree lately in a bid to promote his album.
THE GENESIS
Every ardent follower of Ghana music has come to the realisation that Shatta Wale rides on unnecessary controversies to keep his name going. So, it’s not surprising that Shatta has been throwing shades at Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kwaw Kese, et al. off late whenever he gets media platform.

It could be recalled that Shatta Wale in a recent interview with DJ Reuben of Luv FM in Kumasi claimed that the likes of Sarkodie and Kwaw Kese are all very poor currently and all the ‘hate’ they have for him is because of this particular reason.
Shatta Wale in the same interview further stated that he is not boxing with anyone to pull them but the reality is that currently; “Kwaw Kese is very poor, Sarkodie is poor but for Stonebwoy because he is on the same label (Zylofon Music) with me, he has a few things… but the rest of them are damn poor!”

THE RESPONSES
Recently, Angel Town who happens to be Sarkodie’s manager Responded to the undeserved attack on his artiste. He advised the “Gringo” hitmaker to seek the counsel of the above-mentioned artistes on how to sell his pending album. He cautioned him against throwing unnecessary shades here and there.
Sarkodie has responded to Shatta Wale’s assertion that he’s poor in the remix of Medikal’s banger titled “How Much ”. Here is one of the verses by Sarkodie in the song, indicating his strong repulsion to Shatta’s rants.
“…put some respect on my name nigga; cus you and me are not the same nigga. Wo pushi Picanto no na me pushi Range nigga. I started charging half a million before you came in nigga! ..”, an excerpt of Sarkodie’s verse that is indirectly meant for Shatta Wale.
