Award-winning Ghanaian dance savvy, Bboy Lyricx is set to represent Ghana at the 2019 edition of the Bgirl Bboy Africa dance championships.
The fourth edition of arguably the biggest dance festival in Africa is scheduled to be held between 4th to 7th December, 2019 in Burkina Faso.
This year, Ghana’s representative in the fourth edition of the championships is Clifford Tufour Okai known popularly as Bboy Lyricx. The UDS graduate who was part of now-defunct dance crew, Heroz Dance crew is set to lift high the flag of Ghana by becoming the first Ghanaian to lift the highly coveted trophy.
Since its inception in 2016, the Bboy Bgirl Africa Championship has been the greatest assembly of dance Kings and Queens across the African continent in a quest to defend their personal and national prides.
This year, 15 dancers from 15 countries of Africa plus a guest dance group from France are set to participate in the annual dance ritual.
Previous winners of the championships include Bboy Yaya of Cameroon for 2016, Bboy Loic IG Cameroon in 2017 and Bboy Poxy of Cameroon in 2018.
Other countries represented in this year’s edition of the championships include: Togo, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Benin, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Niger, Congo, Mali, Gabon, DR Congo among others.
